If you have any questions it pays to make an appointment and discuss them with a professional in your area. As well check with your local community college for classes that you can take on small business accounting or using spreadsheets. Also, your local library probably has books that will be useful.
Overall managing your accounting needs should be straightforward and completely something you can handle by yourself once you understand the basics.
I personally keep my own books and file my own taxes as a sole proprietor.
