Multicultural Representation in Childbirth Education materials

Non white individuals are not well represented in childbirth education materials. So how exciting to happen upon a website which offers a wide range of digital and print teaching guides and posters featuring pregnant women of different ethnicities, various hair types and body shapes. A key point — images are not just a darker version of the caucasian version.

The resources are well designed and attractive. They also are adding Spanish versions of their infographic teaching sheets.

Childbirth Professionals International is highly selective about sharing resources with our professional birth community, but The Educated Birth is a resource that doulas, childbirth educators, midwives, and others working with pregnant families should remember.

Also, they have launched an inclusive magazine, Everyday Birth, about pregnancy, birth, and parenthood representing all families.
