g. Informational Talks

tea talk

A strategy to market your doula business is to have ongoing free informational talks where you educate any one that will listen about the benefits and work of doulas. These can be held in partnership with other doulas or similar businesses.

You may be able to get space at a library, community center, hospital, yoga studio, baby store, maternity store, or natural food store. These informational talks are sometimes referred to as “meet-the-doulas” evenings or “doula teas”. You can come up with your own catchy name and descriptions.

The informational talks can be from 30-90 minutes. You may consider offering a session where you provide information on a topic such as packing for the hospital, or cloth diapering. The goal is to network and find families seeking your services.
