How to make money as a Birth Professional, Part 1

MoneyDiversify

Increase your income as a childbirth professional by offering more products, services, or classes.

If you are a doula consider becoming a childbirth educator or prenatal yoga instructor too.  Birth professionals that have other skills can leverage their personal connection to families who would rather obtain all their care from one individual.

If your services focus only on birth, think about how you can help afterward, perhaps as a postpartum doula or lactation consultant.  Your passion might be upon one particular childbirth professional role, however, if you are skilled in another role you can weather economic down times.

Learn about over 60 different roles available  in the childbirth profession in the newly released book, Called to the Childbirth Profession.

Become a Birth Doula

Training to be a certified Birth Doula is as easy as these seven steps.

Birth Doulas help support women and their families through the childbirth experience. They do not provide medical care or deliver babies.

Doulas provide emotional support being affirming, caring, and empathetic. They provide physical support giving massages and assisting a woman in labor to move her body into comfortable and effective labor positions.  They share their knowledge of childbirth assisting women to make informed decisions.
