They are the only hospital in a 100 mile radius to have a structured program that uses doulas as part of the health care team. In fact they turn away about 100 women a year that wish to serve as volunteer doulas.

• Free volunteer doula care based upon need
• A sliding scale for doula care based on income

Our mission is to expand doula care so that every woman has access. We want to connect women that have a passion to serve with families that need your comfort and wisdom. We are starting in Sacramento, but spreading everywhere…

It is our dream that all birthing women will have the support of a doula…professionally trained or a best friend, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a neighbor…some one to advocate and comfort her.
